As an EPA approved Health District, inspections are made of solid waste landfills, transfer facilities, composting facilities, scrap tire facilities, demolition facilities and generators of infectious waste. Refuse vehicles are licensed and inspected annually.
Marion Public Health works with our Ohio EPA local solid waste group, DKMM Solid Waste District, to address trash complaints and illegal dump site cleanups. Responsible parties are prosecuted. DKMM offers recycling and household hazardous waste disposal events, as well as electronics and low cost tire collection events. DKMM events are open to the residents of all four counties, Delaware, Knox, Morrow and Marion.
